Save The Baby - Baby Simulator for Open Sauce 2025

How long can random people at a convention keep a virtual baby alive? Before becoming a father, I wanted to learn from strangers how to take care of a baby. I made this absurd little baby simulator for Open Sauce in 2025.

The game was made over the course of about 2 months before the convention, using Godot as the engine, as well as a python server that controlled elements of the game and reported stats to a real-time grafana dashboard.

BlueNotify - Post Notification app for Bluesky

Until last year, the Bluesky social network did not have the ability to get push notifications when your friends posted on the platform, which is a feature that services like Twitter and Threads have. As of July 7th 2025, they finally added this. Before that, BlueNotify was the only available free app to offer this. In the 10 months after releasing it BlueNotify gained over 9000 users on IOS and Android, and web.

The app still has over 6,000 active users (despite now being obsolete by built-in features of bluesky) and handles around 150,000 notifications per day.

The back-end servers are written in Rust, using NATS for handling messages between servers and notifications are sent using FCM. The front-end app is written in Flutter and deployed to the web as well as available in the Android and IOS app stores.
